In Year Admissions Y7-Y11
In Year Admissions For Years 7 To 11 (2021-2022)
The Highcrest Academy manage their own in year admissions. If you require a school place, you will need to complete an in year admission form and send this to the academy.
Year 7 entry will require the child to have taken a banding test.
Waiting lists remain in bands during Year 7 and we therefore need to know what band the child would be in. Banding tests are available in the autumn and individual tests can be arranged for those transferring schools later in the year. Each band in Year 7 has a separate waiting list. The criteria for the waiting list within the band is: Statemented, LAC children and internationally adopted previously looked after children, siblings and then distance from the academy as detailed in the Admissions Policy.
An ‘In Year Admission Form’ should be completed and returned to the academy to be matched with the banding test result. Entry is normally scheduled for the start of the next full term.
If you have requested to be placed on the waiting list following the main Year 6 to Year 7 transfer process, you do not need to take another test or submit an ‘In Year Admission Form’. There will be termly checks that you wish to remain on the waiting list; please ensure you reply.
Years 8 to 11 have a single waiting list for the year therefore a banding test score is no longer required. Parents should complete an ‘In Year Admission Form’ and return this to the school. The criteria for the waiting list is: Statemented, LAC children and internationally adopted previously looked after children, siblings and then distance from the academy as detailed in the Admissions Policy.
Please note that all years have significant waiting lists.
